I first met the facilitators, Laurence Tan and Eng Neo, at an ICF event where they patiently explained their methodology, and I found their four-module Level 1 program is flexible enough to complete at my own pace. An exceptionally well-structured and thoughtfully designed coaching programme. I particularly appreciated that it went beyond individual coaching and included meaningful coverage of team coaching, something many other programmes tend to overlook. As a learner of the Certified Performance Leadership Coaching (CPLC) course at BP coach training I completed the course and wish to provide some insights and feedback about the course There are some key areas, I wish to focus on as I share my perspective on the following: Program Structure: The course was logically structured into 4 modules progressing from coaching foundation to performance evaluation of the coaching process. Each module was built on the previous one with clear learning objectives outlines at the beginning. The blend of the online pre reading and assessments, F2F session and in class activities balanced flexibility and enhanced my hands on learning experience. Facilitators: Both the facilitators, Mr. Laurence and Ms. Eng Neo brought deep expertise in coaching and leadership practices. They demonstrated strong command of the content, using real case studies from their work-based experience to illustrate concepts. Their coaching approach was empathetic and adaptive ensuring all participants felt heard and supported. Facilitators actively encouraged questions and tailored examples to address specific challenges shared by participants. What I admire is their patience in answering everyone’s questions and no questions were ignored or put aside for later reflection. Assessment tools The course used a mix of formative and summative assessments. The coaching role play allowed for real time feedback from peers and facilitators. The Pre-course online learning with readings, quizzes and forums provided the roadmap and heads up on what to expect during classroom learning. Furthermore, final assessments which consists of case study analysis were relevant and focused on application rather than rote or passive learning. Tools like DISC personality tools and Emotional intelligence tools during the course provided insights into areas for growth. Peer discussion Peer discussion and group work are a highlight. The course conducted small breakout groups during F2F sessions. During group discussions peers share diverse experiences, challenge each other’s perspective and collaborated on solving both leadership and coaching problems. The peer discussion groups during the course have continued as professional support networks and cultivated good collegiality. In conclusion the course effectively combines strong structure, expert guidance, meaningful assessment and collaborative learning which have equipped me with practical tools to become a more effective coach leader. Just completed 4 modules of CPLC certification last week which is required for Level 1 ACC coach certification. I am a life long learner and have done tons of corporate and private trainings, I can 100% say the course was way beyond expectations. I would highly recommend BP Coaching for the course content, trainers depth of knowledge, resources given to us, exercises, pace of training and most important - effectiveness. The very first module gave me a structure, tools and techniques to coach and so much of peer practice. I immediately felt confident coming out of the class. But then every module we went deeper. In Module 3, we moved from transactional coaching to transformational coaching, we were taught how to use EQ as a tool to go deep into the client's mental state, how to ask powerful questions to bring new insights and awareness, so many tools, & techniques, much more than I expected. We practiced using every single tool. Finally, Module 4 was full of peer-practice & mentor observation & feedback, putting everything together, how to confidently navigate through a complex conversation, and mainly reflecting on our mistakes, and others mistakes as well! This module is a game changer. Overall, it really polished my coaching skills and took me to the next level. Last but not the least, the food was amazing, every 2 hours buffet of varieties, lunch and snacks, tea, coffee & juices. For a foodie like me, my heart is full! 🙂 Initially I was only doing this for my ACC and was excited about Skills-future discounts. I can 200% say that I could take this course even without discount, I received 10 times more than what I paid for and what I expected out of it, it has transformed me completely. I completed my Certified Performance Leadership Coach program over the last 7 months. I learnt so much from Eng Neo & Laurence, who facilitated the 4 workshops. What I loved about these workshops was how interactive it was, and getting to practice with real-life mimicking scenarios, the gamified aspects of the workshops and watching their mastery at coaching. The design of the program was so well thought out to ensure that our time was being well spent between learning, and applying all while having fun.
